Pittsburgh Ranks 9th Best City to Locate a Business
The publication evaluated several factors, including public schools, logistics infrastructure, knowledge worker base, taxation and government.
The study analyzed 362 metropolitan areas, and placed Pittsburgh 9th behind Austin, Minneapolis, Raleigh, Dallas, Houston, Washington D.C., Madison, and Seattle.
Phoenix ranked number 10, just behind Pittsburgh.
This ranking is a feather in the cap of the local organizations and individuals who are attempting to attract businesses to our region. It may prove to be an important tool in convincing Westinghouse to locate it's nuclear engineering employees in Pittsburgh.
I am obviously a strong believer in the Pittsburgh region's business climate, however this high ranking has shocked even this proud Pittsburgher.
